Why did you choose your instrument / Pourquoi avez-vous choisi cet instrument ?
The viola is so deep and beautiful and plays wonderful harmonies in orchestra.

What are your professional goals? / Décrivez quelques-unes de vos ambitions professionnelles.
I would love to be in a professional orchestra one day or perhaps play chamber music (professionally). After meeting with violinist/teacher Karen Kimmett I also have a dream to travel to remote areas (such as South Africa) to teach music.

How do you feel you will benefit from participation in NYO Canada? / Comment pensez-vous que votre participation à NYO Canada puisse vous aider?
I believe the NYOC is a great opportunity to revive the passion for music that is sometimes lost when attending a post-secondary music institution. The last time I was in the NYOC I loved being able to perform at all the different venues across Canada (and in parts of the USA) and it was an opportunity that is not available to all musicians.

What are your interests outside classical music / Avez-vous d’autres intérêts à part la musique classique ?

Who is your favourite classical musician? / Quel est votre artiste (classique) préféré ?
Adrian Anantawan NYOC alumni

Who is your favourite non-classical musician? / Quel est votre artiste (non classique) préféré ?
One Republic

What has recently played on your Mp3? / Qu’écoutez-vous ces jours-ci sur votre Mp3?

If you weren't touring with NYO Canada what would you be doing with your summer? / Si vous ne faisiez pas partie de NYO Canada que feriez-vous cet été?
Working or visiting BC...

What is there about you that you think people might be surprised to know? / Y a-t-il quelque chose à votre propos qui est un peu surprenant ou hors de l’ordinaire?
I'm single!

For returning members: What is your fondest memory from a previous session and/or tour? / Pour participants vétérans: Quels sont vos souvenirs préférés de la session ou tournée précédente de NYO Canada?
Although I found the first 1-2 weeks of the training session (2008) very difficult the end result was so worth it. Every concert we did had a special memory for a different reason. The friendships I made throughout the summer are invaluable and I am so thankful for being a part of the NYOC and learning from the teachers & faculty.
