Jacinthe Forand
Flute
Jacinthe Forand is a graduate of Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, Manhattan School of Music in New York City, and Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
In 2001, Jacinthe Forand was appointed principal flute of the Orchestre symphonique de Québec. She has since performed as a soloist and has participated in more than ten CD recordings of the orchestra.
As an engaged and versatile musician, she has performed at the Tanglewood Music Center Festival, the Festival de musique de chambre de Sainte-Pétronille, the Domaine Forget International Festival, and Club Musical de Québec, as well as with Orquestra Sinfonica de Galicia in Spain, Manhattan Virtuosi in New York, New World Symphony in Miami, Orchestre symphonique de Laval, Orchestre Métropolitain, National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa, Violons du Roy, and Orchestre symphonique de Montréal.
Much appreciated and sought after as a teacher, she holds the position of flute professor at the Conservatoire de musique de Québec since 2006, and at the Domaine Forget International Music Academy since 2008. In recent times, she has also offered workshops on breathing for wind players.
Jacinthe Forand was awarded scholarships by many organizations, such as the Canada Council for the Arts, among others.
