01. How old were you when you started playing your instrument?/ Quel âge aviez-vous quand vous avez commencé à jouer votre instrument ?
5 years old

02. Why did you choose your instrument?/ Pourquoi avez-vous choisi cet instrument ?
My mom chose my instrument because she liked string instruments, specifically the cello. She realized the cello was too big for my size, so I ended up playing the violin for its portability.

03. Describe some of your professional goals./Décrivez quelques-unes de vos ambitions professionnelles.
In the future, I would like to combine my interests in music and business. I am currently enrolled and hoping to complete a dual degree with music and business at Western University. Although ambitious, being appointed an executive of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra or some other musical organization would be really cool.

04. What are your other interests and/or hobbies?/ Quels sont vos autres intérêts ou passe-temps?
Eating delicious things, performing at weddings, volunteering to recruit stem cell donors for One-Match, and pretending I like to run.

05. Do you write/arrange your own music?/ Êtes-vous compositeur ou arrangeur de votre propre musique ?
Not unless its a school-assigned project

06. Who is your favourite classical musician?/ Quel est votre artiste (musicien) préféré ?
I can't choose one, they all possess different strengths

07. What is your favourite piece of music?/ Quel est votre morceau préféré ?
I'm a fan of anything by Shosty or Tchaik

08. What is your favourite concerto for your instrument?/ Quel est votre concerto préféré pour votre instrument?
Tchaikovsky or Sibelius

10. What made you decide to pursue classical music?/ Pourquoi avez-vous choisi une formation en musique classique ?
At first, I was considering just pursing a business degree, but realized I couldn't drop music because it's too integrated in my life. Having this skill also gives me security when carrying out non-musical ventures because my accomplishments in music bring me confidence for success.

11. What do you think is the biggest challenge you face in your pursuit of a career in music?/ Quel est le plus grand obstacle à surmonter afin de poursuivre une carrière en musique ?
The biggest challenge I'll face is finding a way to combine my musical interest with business endeavours. If not combine, I will need to search for ways to continue to be musically involved and cultivate this skill.

12. Why did you choose to apply to NYO Canada?/ Pourquoi avez-vous choisi de poser votre candidature pour NYO Canada?
I knew past members in the orchestra and wanted to have the same experience they highly recommended

13. How do you feel you will benefit from participation in NYO Canada?/ Comment bénéficierez-vous de votre participation dans le programme de NYO Canada?
I think being under the time and caliber pressure, I will become motivated and work harder to meet expectations. I also believe that performing alongside talented musicians will inspire me to improve both technically and musically.

14. Were you accepted to any other summer music programs this year?/ Avez-vous été accepté/e à tout autre programme musical estival cette année?

15. If you weren’t touring with the NYO Canada, what would you be doing during the summer?/ Si vous n’étiez pas en tournée avec NYO Canada, que feriez-vous cet été?
I would search for a job and probably perform at weddings on weekends.

16. What was the proudest moment of your music career thus far?/ Jusqu’ici, quel est le moment de votre carrière musicale qui vous a apporté le plus de fierté?
Probably getting into the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra and now the National Youth Orchestra.
