10 years, 2 months and 16 days

Why did you choose your instrument / Pourquoi avez-vous choisi cet instrument ?
I wanted to be in my Junior High's Jazz Band, so I had to pick an appropriate instrument. My dad played the trombone in high school, and my sister despises the saxophone (no offense meant to saxophonists that read this), so I defaulted to the trumpet. (I guess the rhythm section didn't count) Thus my fate was sealed.

What made you decide to pursue classical music? / Pourquoi avez-vous choisi une formation en musique classique ?
Truthfully, I believe my parents kind of forced me into it as a naive young child. However, now that I've "matured", I am very glad that they did. The variety and expansiveness of the repertoire, and the fact that there is always more to accomplish on your instrument keeps me going.

If you weren't touring with NYO Canada what would you be doing with your summer? / Si vous ne faisiez pas partie de NYO Canada que feriez-vous cet été?

I will always remember re-discovering the Rocky Mountains with those who had never seen them before ('10), our fabulous night in Halifax ('11) and above all, all of the people I have met along the way (sappy, but true).
