01. How old were you when you started playing your instrument?/ Quel âge aviez-vous quand vous avez commencé à jouer votre instrument ?
6 years old.

02. Why did you choose your instrument?/ Pourquoi avez-vous choisi cet instrument ?
Music has always been a part of my home, since my mom is a piano teacher. We started piano lessons at a young age, but we were soon introduced to the violin, and it became our main focus!

03. Describe some of your professional goals./Décrivez quelques-unes de vos ambitions professionnelles.
I would love to perform, and be a part of a wonderful orchestra, but my ultimate goal is to be a part of a musical revival. A company, or a movement where music is respected, loved and used in so many different ways to impact people.

04. What are your other interests and/or hobbies?/ Quels sont vos autres intérêts ou passe-temps?
I love reading, sports, healthy cooking, and exploring new sights and places!

05. Do you write/arrange your own music?/ Êtes-vous compositeur ou arrangeur de votre propre musique ?
No, but I hope to one day!

06. Who is your favourite classical musician?/ Quel est votre artiste (musicien) préféré ?
Jascha Heifetz - Virtuosity, ease, and so much more rolled into one magnificent musician

07. What is your favourite piece of music?/ Quel est votre morceau préféré ?
The three piece collection by Tchaikovsky: Souvenir d'un lieu cher. But as there are so many other amazing pieces, my preference tends to change often

08. What is your favourite concerto for your instrument?/ Quel est votre concerto préféré pour votre instrument?
There are so many that I like, but Tchaikovsky concert comes out on top for me

10. What made you decide to pursue classical music?/ Pourquoi avez-vous choisi une formation en musique classique ?
Music has always been a part of my life, and there was never a moment when I thought this flow of my life was not where it should be going. I love every instrumental genre of music, but classical music requires a certain degree of skill and dedication which I have always admired.

11. What do you think is the biggest challenge you face in your pursuit of a career in music?/ Quel est le plus grand obstacle à surmonter afin de poursuivre une carrière en musique ?
The biggest challenge will be adapting to the course that music is taking in this century. Bringing back the respect and great love for this art. Also, this career path needs a great time investment, and it is difficult to practice sometimes with all of the distractions that pop up.

12. Why did you choose to apply to NYO Canada?/ Pourquoi avez-vous choisi de poser votre candidature pour NYO Canada?
I have heard from many young musicians the valuable times they have had with the NYO Canada, and I finally had an opportunity to apply!

13. How do you feel you will benefit from participation in NYO Canada?/ Comment bénéficierez-vous de votre participation dans le programme de NYO Canada?
It will be great to be among musical colleagues, learning from them, and drawing inspiration from their own musical walks. It will also be a very valuable experience, being a part of an orchestra and expanding my repertoire.

14. Were you accepted to any other summer music programs this year?/ Avez-vous été accepté/e à tout autre programme musical estival cette année?
I only applied to NYO Canada.

15. If you weren’t touring with the NYO Canada, what would you be doing during the summer?/ Si vous n’étiez pas en tournée avec NYO Canada, que feriez-vous cet été?
I would attend another summer program, or I would be learning new repertoire in preparation for the next school year.

16. What was the proudest moment of your music career thus far?/ Jusqu’ici, quel est le moment de votre carrière musicale qui vous a apporté le plus de fierté?
I will never forget when I was 10 years old, and I performed Accolay's Violin Concerto in A minor with the London Community Orchestra. It was such a proud and fulfilling moment, knowing I had learned something so well, and that there were so many people there to support me. I am so glad to be blessed with the gift of violin.

17. What scholarships, if any, have you been awarded in the past year?/ Quelles bourses, le cas échéant, avez-vous remporté au cours de la dernière année?
The Desser Scholarship from the Glenn Gould School.
